Work with Me

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel daunting, but you’re not alone. I’m here to guide and support you every step of the way.

Here’s how we’ll work together:

We’ll Start with a Free Consult Call

Reaching out for help is a courageous act, it truly is. No matter where you are in your mental health journey, our work begins with a complimentary 20-minute consultation. This is an opportunity for us to explore your unique needs and discuss how I can support you.

01

We’ll make a personalised plan

Your therapy journey is as unique as you are. Together, we’ll craft a personalised counselling plan based on your specific goals and circumstances. This collaborative process helps you reflect on where you are now and where you’d like to be. We’ll identify therapeutic interventions, tools, and skills that resonate with you—practical strategies that you can apply in your daily life to help you move forward and reach your goals.

02

We’ll take it one step at a time

Personal growth takes time and courage. Whether you’re new to therapy or have worked with therapists before, it’s important to honour your unique pace. Some clients gain clarity and make progress within a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term support. There’s no right or wrong timeline. Therapy is a space for exploration, learning, and growth—and your day-to-day life is where those insights take root and flourish.

As an outcome-focused therapist, I’m here to walk alongside you, offering guidance and encouragement every step of the way. No matter the length of your journey, my commitment is to help you achieve meaningful and lasting change.

FAQS

you’ve got questions. I’ve got answers.

What is counselling?

Counselling is a supportive and confidential space where you can openly discuss your concerns, feelings, and experiences with a trained professional. Through empathetic, active listening and evidence-based techniques, counsellors empower their clients to make positive changes in their lives. It’s important to seek out a therapist who is registered with an appropriate body, as this helps safeguard your interests and ensures you receive high-quality, ethical care.

Do you offer in-person counselling?

Yes, I offer face-to-face counselling sessions in a private location in Deniliquin.

What are the benefits of online therapy?

Online counselling offers convenience, allowing you to participate in sessions from the comfort of your own space. Being in a familiar environment can bring a sense of safety, making it easier to address challenges without feeling excessively vulnerable or anxious. Research consistently shows that online therapy is as effective as traditional face-to-face sessions.

How do I get started?

You can self-refer by booking a complimentary 20-minute consultation through the Book A Consult button on my website. If you would like me to collaborate with your GP, please ask your GP to email a referral to info@anikabulltherapy.com.

How much will a session cost and how do I pay?

Session fees are AUD $170 for a 60-minute session.

I use Halaxy, a reputable and secure health platform, to manage payments. Payments are automatically generated through the platform once we have completed our session, making it simple and fuss-free for both of us

Do you offer a sliding scale?

On occasion, I may be able to offer a flexible fee structure based on household income. I allocate specific slots in my schedule for these instances, and when possible, I will work with you to establish an arrangement that supports ongoing therapy. Feel free to reach out to me regarding your unique circumstances via my contact page.

Do you accept mental health care plans?

Currently, counsellors and psychotherapists do not accept mental health care plans in Australia.

Is this a confidential service?

Yes, our conversations are confidential and private. However, there are three instances where I may need to breach confidentiality due to my duty of care to you and others:

· If there’s a serious risk of harm to yourself or others

· If there’s suspected child abuse

· If I am required to due to a court order

If any of the above situations arise, I will always discuss it with you before taking action.

How do I know if this is right for me?

Honestly, you won't know if I’m the right therapist for you until we’ve connected and discussed your needs. That’s why I offer a complimentary 20-minute consult call—it’s the perfect opportunity for us to see if the therapeutic relationship feels like a good fit for you.

Testimonials

For privacy purposes clients chose a pseudonym that describes how they felt after a session with me.

  • "I met Anika consumed with fear and darkness from my own thoughts, my life felt hopeless and me worthless. With Anika's careful guidance I was able to ground myself, refocus the power of my thoughts and turn back towards living life with more confidence and less fear. Anika introduced me to some simple but solid techniques to continue this in the future. Our sessions were relaxed and productive, even over the phone as many of my sessions were; due to my circumstances. I am extremely grateful for her calm and peaceful disposition and thank her for being truly authentic."

  • “Anika helped me understand my anxiety/depression better and how to manage it on a day-to-day basis. During our sessions I unpacked my childhood trauma and she taught me how to get my power back as a woman as well as how to be brave and courageous. I felt a lot lighter and happier afterwards, like the world had been lifted off my shoulders. I always felt safe with Anika, I feel like I have grown more as a person and understand myself a lot better now. I would recommend my family, friends or anyone who needs a counsellor to see Anika because I learnt a lot while we worked together.”

  • “Anika helped me tremendously with my anxiety. I was able to identify where my anxiety was coming from and I felt very comfortable discussing very personal issues with her. I was given strategies to use which were certainly very helpful. Over time, I developed more confidence and less anxiety. I am able to move forward a much happier and relaxed person.”
